Australia had a tough start of the World Cup as they opened the competition with a game against the defending champion. The Aussies started well indeed, scoring first against France but then allowed 4 unanswered goals and ended up losing. Australia showed character in the second game against Tunisia winning 1-0 with Mitchell Duke scoring in the middle of the first half.

Australia is now pretty close to advancing further in the competition as all they need is a point from the game against Denmark.

Australia is in a much better position as they will advance even with a draw but they are not a team that can defend with high quality during the entire game.
