The 20-year-old is playing in great form winning the last 16 matches going into the final match against Naomi Osaka. She is 25-3 in the season and has already won two tournaments in 2022, in Doha and Indian Wells.

Swiatek made it to the final match without dropping a set in Miami and is coming off a 6-2, 7-5 win over Jesicca Pegula in the semifinals. Previously in Miami, she defeated Petra Kvitova, Cori Gauff, Madison Brengle and Viktorija Golubic.

Last week, Swiatek won the tournament in Indian Wells defeating Maria Sakkari in the final by 6-4, 6-1.

The Polish came to Indian Wells after winning the tournament in Doha dropping only one set in the tournament. Swiatek defeated Anett Kontaveit in the finals by 6-2 and 6-0.

At the first major of the year, Swiatek made it to the semifinals in Melbourne where she failed to Danielle Collins by 6-4 and 6-1.

The former no. 1 Naomi Osaka is currently ranked 77th on the WTA rankings but it is only a matter of time when she will return among the top 5.

The four-time Grand Slam champion is 11-2 for the season and will have a chance to win the first title of the year.

She made it to the Miami Open final after defeating Belinda Bencic in the semis coming from a set behind to a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory.

In the previous rounds, Osaka won in straight sets against Danielle Collins, Alison Riske, Angelique Kerber and Astra Sharma while Karolina Muchova withdrew in the third round.

In Indian Wells, Osaka was stunned in the second round losing to Veronika Kudermetova by 6-0 and 6-4.

At the Australian Open, Osaka lost in the third round to Amanda Anisimova in straight sets after went past Madison Brengle and Maria Camilla Serrano.

Iga Swiatek is the best player on tour at the moment winning 16 straight games and is one match away from her third consecutive title. Osaka, on the other hand, has everything a player need to win except the mental strength and consistency. She is finally back in a final match at a major tournament and will definitely put up a fight. The Japanese has won the only previous match against Swiatek but the Polish was 17-years-old when that match took place. Swiatek is still young but her game is almost perfect and will find a way to win today in Miami.
