Details:

It's time for the 2022 AFL Grand Final where we see Geelong Cats and Sydney Swans face off on the biggest stage of them all the MCG for the Premiership.
Geelong were a class above the Lions in Preliminary Final, barely raising a sweat. Sydney gripped on to beat Collingwood by one-point, but despite scraping into the Grand Final they are the value to be crowned premiers.
  • Geelong Cats have won their last 15 matches.
  • Sydney Swans have won their last 2 matches against Geelong Cats.
  • Sydney Swans have won their last 9 matches.
  • There is nothing to split these sides with a 5-5 head to head record from the last 10 clashes.
Sydney have wont the last two matches over the Cats, including in March of this year when the Swans came away easy five-goal winners at the SCG.

Geelong Cats Form

How can you fault their form? The Cats have won each of their last 15 matches, finished as minor premiers and last week beat up on the Lions in a match where their stars were taken off in the last quarter.
Many (including myself) have potted the age of this side, but their older playing group have combined their firepower and experience with extreme flair of youth from the likes of Sam De Koning at half-back.
If key forwards Jeremy Cameron and Tom Hawkins can kick two or three goals each early in this game, the Cats will take some catching as has been the case for much of the second half of the season.

Geelong Cats Team News

Max Holmes suffered what looked a hamstring injury last week, but he has been named in an unchanged Geelong side.

Sydney Swans Form

Explosive, dynamic, exciting. These are the three words that come to mind when we talk about the form of this Sydney side and the nine-game winning run they are on.
They were a little off last week against the Pies when looking to have game in their back pocket, leading by six goals.
Collingwood clawed their way back to get within one point on the siren, but the Swans did what they needed an secured their place in the Grand Final.
The tough match play from last week will certainly have hardened them up in preparation for a Grand Final, and could be a deciding factor.

Sydney Swans Team News

After having an injury cloud over his head this week, Sam Reid will play.
Forward Logan McDonald has been dropped from the squad, replaced by Hayden McLean.
