Summary:

Chelsea had a somewhat reasonable start to the season, having won 3-1 away against Brighton, while Liverpool had a somewhat reasonable start to the season too, having won 4-3 at home against Leeds. Both teaams got wins in their opening matches despite not being at their best, and for this match I think both teams with good ability should make it a close competitive match, however while Chelsea are at home for this match, Liverpool do have the better all-round ability, and particularly strong attack, while Chelsea have struggled defensively a lot, and I think overall that if Liverpool give a better focused effort, that Liverpool should have the edge in ability to get an away win most likely in this match at fairly reasonable value

There’s still defensive issues with Chelsea and that’s got to be worrying going up against the Champs. Liverpool won both games last season in goal heavy affairs and I think we see somewhat similar again

Liverpool are really lucky on this trip, because, on the one hand, Lampard's band are in trouble, but it is not known how weak or strong these problems in the condition in which Ziyech, Van Ginkel are injured and also Jorginho, Pulisic, Werner are unlikely for this meeting. Liverpool do not appear to have any problems with the squad, with the only injured being Oxlade-Chamberlain and Shaqiri and Tsimikas (in quarantine) unlikely. Chelsea finished last season with their heads held high, achieving a record of seven consecutive wins in all competitions (and friendlies). Liverpool lost the FA Community Shield to Arsenal, and overall away even had problems the previous season, but, let's face it, they were already champions! Liverpool can take their revenge, that's because they succumbed to Chelsea in the FA Cup this year, but in the league they won, 1-2. I expect Liverpool to win. Klopp's side have comparable firepower and more, though, and a more characteristic defensive display could be enough for them to take all three points from this match.

My prediction. Liverpool win FT
