Manchester derby in the EFL Cup. It's the semi-final at Old Trafford. Again a boring match between the teams? Most recently - a few weeks ago - it was a really dead derby between the teams. There was not much good to be gained from that derby. Two teams that barely dared a chance. City is usually a team that always moves forward, holds a lot of ball and plays offensive football.

Pep did not dare in the same way, and it is perhaps not very strange considering that City have lost quite a few times against United in recent years or since Ole came, partly due to the fact that United contracted so well against the team. And Pep was probably well aware of that and did not push forward. And that United played quite defensively and waited for counterattacks was probably quite expected.

And I think something similar to this match even if the team received quite a lot of criticism for the match last time. It is not surprising at all that you choose to play like that. No one wants to give away a win and chooses Pep to take further risks then he can be punished - just like previous matches - and Ole's tactics have generally worked well against Pep. In short, I believe in a careful match from both teams.

I can of course be wrong and that the team goes in with a more offensive attitude considering that it is a cup match, but on the other hand it is a semifinal and the team is not far from a title so I still expect two strong elves between two teams wants to advance to the final.
