Ukraine rounds off its European Championship preparations with a friendly match in their home country against Cyprus who visit them. Behind them, Ukraine has an impressive 1-0 victory over Northern Ireland and will want to ride on that wave with another victory before the European Championships. Ukraine will be able to do that as Cyprus is weak with a 0-1 loss behind them against Hungary.

Ukraine had no worries about qualifying for the European Championships, with 0 losses in the qualifiers. Hats off to the fantastic feat. Manager Andriy Shevchenko has done well with the Ukrainian national team. It has been a bit sluggish since Ukraine qualified, but a victory last time, after a header by Oleksandr Zubkov in minute 10, was nice. Another victory would have been really nice before the championship.

Cyprus made a lousy qualifier where they only managed to defeat the San Marino punching bag. In the World Cup qualifiers, however, things have gone better with a victory at home over Slovenia and a cross over Slovakia. On the away field, however, it was cod against Croatia, and most recently in Hungary. Cyprus has problems when it has to leave its home country and will get it again against Ukraine, who themselves are heavy to face in their home country.

The fact that Cyprus have only netted once in the last 5 matches does not make things any easier.

My bet will be that Ukraine wins the match by -1 goal on Asian handicap. Money back on exactly one goal victory, loss on cross or Cyprus victory and win if Ukraine wins by more than one goal in difference.
