Summary:

After the break for the national teams, Serie A restarts with a special day that will be played all over on Saturday 3 April. After the lunch match between Milan and Sampdoria, there are seven matches at 15:00. One of these will be played at the Mapei Stadium between Sassuolo and Rome. Sassuolo have not played for three weeks thanks to the postponement of the San Siro match against Inter due to coronavirus cases. The Giallorossi lost against Napoli in the last match played 2-0 with Mertens' brace. De Zerbi's team are eighth in the standings with 39 points, Fonseca's is sixth at 50.

Details:

Sassuolo:

De Zerbi's team are having a good season even if they seem to be declining in the last period. He is currently eighth in the standings with 39 points resulting from 10 wins, nine draws and eight defeats. In almost perfect equality between the goals scored and those conceded. The times that Sassuolo have scored are 45, 1.66 per match, while those suffered are 44, 1.63 every 90 minutes. Numbers that show how the team is often voted to attack with some defensive gaps that are often decisive. The figure that points this out is also the percentage of possession which is 60.7%, the best in the whole championship.

The results at Mapei Stadium, however, falls short of expectations. The Emilian team has collected 18 points in 13 games with four wins, six draws and three defeats. Only six points have been won in the last five games played on the Reggio Emilia. Even for home matches, the balance between goals scored and conceded is practically identical. There are 21 goals scored, 1.61 per match against 20 conceded, 1.54 per match. A very important name for this team is certainly Manuel Locatelli. The midfielder returns from his experience in the national team with the goal scored in Bulgaria which can certainly give him an extra sprint for the season finale.

Roma:

Fonseca's team is in sharp decline, especially in Serie A, as evidenced by the two consecutive defeats against Parma and Napoli. The Giallorossi are sixth in the standings with 50 points from 15 wins, five draws and eight defeats. The best department is certainly confirmed as the offensive one with 51 goals scored, 1.82 per game, while the defense is the department that often goes into difficulty as shown by the 42 goals conceded, 1.5 every 90 minutes. The other big problem of the Giallorossi is certainly that of the big matches. In the games against the top eight in the standings, they scored only four points out of the 30 available.

The offensive performance is very bad in the away games lately. Roma have only scored 17 points in 13 games away from the Olimpico. Bad attack that scored only 18 goals, 1.38 per game while the defense suffers more than in home games, 1.92 every 90 minutes. A very complicated situation that must necessarily be improved to reach the Champions League goal. One player to keep an eye on is definitely Lorenzo Pellegrini. The number seven played in the matches of the Italian national team, also showing off excellent performances that can make him return to his club team with more awareness of the means.

Probable formations:

Sassuolo (4-2-3-1): Consigli; Toljan, Chiriches, Marlon, Rogerio, Obiang, Lopez; Traore, Djuricic, Boga; Raspadori. Coach. De Zerbi

Roma (3-4-2-1): Lopez; Mancini, Fazio, Spinazzola; Karsdorp, Pellegrini, Diawara, Peres; Pedro, El Shaarawy; Mayoral. Coach. Fonseca

My prediction for Sassuolo - Roma:

There are 15 games played between the two teams. The balance is clearly in favor of the Giallorossi who have won eight matches between the two teams, six draws and only one victory for the neroverdi. As for the matches played at Mapei Stadium, the situation does not vary much: out of seven matches, five were won by the visiting team, a draw and a black-green victory which was also the last match played on this field in the last championship. for 4-2. The best scorer of the challenge is Edin Dzeko with five goals.

Tonight we have two teams with great offensive capacity but are sloppy in Defence. Roma need a victory but Sassuolo won't give up easy.

2-1 or 2-2 will be my prediction on this game and over 2.5 goals played.
