Watford is hosting Newcastle in what is expected to be a match where both teams will seek to win points but will not fully attack the opponent.

Watford returned to the Premier League this season and have won twice in the first five rounds. They are coming off a 1-3 victory against Norwich who is their direct competitor in the fight for keeping their spot in the elite for the next season.

Watford also won the season opener against Aston Villa by 3-2 and lost the other three games against Brighton, Tottenham and Wolverhampton.

On the other hand, Newcastle have yet to win their first game in the season and have won only two points so far which put them in the danger zone in the standings.

To make things even worse for Newcastle, the only elite opponent they played so far this season was Manchester United. They also lost to West Ham and Aston Villa and draw with Southampton and Leeds United at home.

Another loss is totally unacceptable for Steve Bruce’s squad, especially against Watford. Five Newcastle players are on the injury list including Jonjo Shelvey and Callum Wilson.
