MLB Prediction: Houston Astron vs Oakland Athletic

This pick is totally dependent on how you see Cole Irvin’s start going. If you look at him as a rookie who barely made the team and is there only as a placeholder, then you might go with the OVER. If you look at Irvin’s small sample of work and see an electric pitcher, then you would probably take the UNDER. I’m going with the latter of the two.

With the weak Athletics lineup and strong Astros pitching staff, this game might be like their Opening Day matchup. Irvin has not played well in his two MLB seasons, but had a respectable spring training which earned him this spot. The Astros know what they’re getting out of McCullers Jr. and just have to score about four runs to have a good chance at victory. RingCentral Coliseum is no hitters’ park either, so if these pitchers are able to keep the ball in the park, neither team should be scoring a ton of runs.
