Wendelken (1-0) earned the win in relief as he threw three innings, allowing one run (none earned) on two hits with a walk and a strikeout.

Houston suffered a third straight defeat as they were knocked off in a contest
This one is going to be a gut check for the Astros, who entered Saturday having dropped three straight games coming into Saturday’s contest. Houston has struggled with their rotation after Gerrit Cole left via free agency and Justin Verlander suffered an injury.
Oakland has a ton of momentum and they are an excellent team at home. Seeing how Houston wasted a quality start on Friday night thanks to their inability in generating offense, you have to be concerned about their chances here. Both young starters were strong in their respective first starts of the year. Luzardo, pitching at home and backed by the Oakland defense, gets the edge in this one as the A’s take the win and the series.
