Both the Boston Celtics and the Milwaukee Bucks have underachieved in the first month of the season as the Celtics are out of the playoff picture and the reigning champions are barely in it.
Coach Ime Udoka has a tough beginning with the Celtics who are only 1-3 at home but have been on a rise lately winning 3 of their last 4 games losing only to the Dallas Mavericks with Luka Doncic’s buzzer-beater.
In that game, Jason Tatum was brilliant with 32 points and 11 rebounds.
In the last game, the Celtics defeated the Toronto Raptors 104-88 led by Jason Tatum with 22 and Dennis Schroder who has recently been added to the starting lineup, with 20.
The Bucks had a slow start after winning the championship last season. The main reason for the 50% record so far are the injuries of the majority of the starting lineup. Only Giannis Antetokounmpo has played all 12 games of the starters this season with Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton missing half of them. Khris Middleton is close to be back on the court, but Holiday and Brook Lopez are expected to be out for a significant time.
The Bucks have won 3 of their last 5 games with the last one 112-100 win in New York. ‘The Greek Freak’ had a tough night scoring only 15 points on 5-15 shooting. Pat Connaughton was the key player scoring 23 off the bench with 7-13 from the three-point line.
Key facts
- Jaylen Brown will miss his second consecutive game for the Celtics
- The Bucks will be without Brook Lopez, Khris Middleton and Donte DiVincenzo
- The Bucks have won 7 of their last 10 against the Celtics and 3 of the last 5 played in Boston
Celtics leading scorer Jaylen Brown (25.6 ppg) will be out for tonight’s game which will be a huge blow for the home team. The Bucks are also short-handed but their bench has been very productive. Bobby Portis Jr., Pat Connaughton and Jordan Nwora are ready to step up and help the Bucks when needed.
However, there is no way Giannis Antetokounmpo to be stopped so placing a bet on Milwaukee’s win is the right choice.
