Details:
There are no undefeated teams in the East anymore but two of the five with only one loss are meeting tonight in South Beach.
The Heat are 3-1, surprisingly losing only to the Indiana Pacers in overtime and winning the other three games with an average margin of 24 points.
They started the season with a 42 points victory over the reigning champion Milwaukee Bucks that swept them in last season’s playoffs.
Tyler Herro was phenomenal in that match scoring 27 off the bench and is constantly one of the key men in the Heat's offense.
Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo are on top of their game as well which they proved in the last Heat’s 106-93 win in Brooklyn. The Heat played excellent defense against one of the best offensive teams in the league and managed to win despite shooting only 39.6% from the field and 27.6% from the three-point line.
Adebayo led the way with 24 points and 9 rebounds while Butler had a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds.
Miami’s good start wasn’t much of a surprise but Charlotte’s 4-1 record certainly is. Boston is the only team that has defeated the Hornets this year who were also victorious when they visited Brooklyn.
Miles Bridges has been phenomenal averaging 26.2 points per game and scoring 31 in Hornets’ last 120-111 win over the Orlando Magic.
Last season's Rookie of the Year LaMelo Ball scored only 7 points on 3-from-14 shooting against the Magic but that was just a bad night since he is the second-leading scorer of the team with 19.6 points per game.
Key facts
- Terry Rozier and PJ Washington will miss tonight's game for Charlotte
- The Hornets have won three of the last five against Miami
- The Heat were 21-15 at home last season while the Hornets were 15-21 on the road
- The Heat had a whooping 6 rebounds in their last game
The Hornets are fearless this season but Miami is still above their level. Terry Dozier and PJ Washington are out for tonight’s game which will make Miami’s path to covering the spread much easier. Both teams play fast basketball with many three-point shooting which might bring a high-scoring game.
