The Portland Trail Blazers are hosting the Los Angeles Lakers in the most interesting game on Saturday night.
The Blazers, which are 4-5, put an end to a three-game losing streak last night with a 110-106 win over the Indiana Pacers.
Previously they lost on the road to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers and Charlotte Hornets.
CJ McCollum was the leading scorer against Indiana with 27 points hitting five of nine three-point shots. Norman Powell has fully recovered from the injury and had 25.
Damian Lillard is still out of his recognizable form as he had only 4 points in 38 minutes, shooting 2-of-13 from the field and 0-6 from the three-point line. Lillard is averaging 19.5 points per game this season which is almost 10 less compared to last season, and the lowest average since his rookie season.
The Lakers, on the other hand, are not much better, having a 5-4 record. They finally improved their game, winning three consecutive games but lost the last one at home, 107-104 to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
LeBron James missed that one which cost the Lakers their second loss this season to the OKC. The Lakers had control of the game but lost the last quarter by 11 points.
Anthony Davis was brilliant with 29 points and 18 rebounds followed by Russell Westbrook with 27 and Carmelo Anthony with 21 off the bench.
Key facts
- LeBron James is listed as questionable for tonight’s game
- Trevor Ariza, Kendrick Nunn and Talen Horton-Tucker are out for the Lakers
- The Lakers have won 5 of the last 7 games against the Blazers
- The Lakers have won 5 of the last 6 games played in Portland
With or without LeBron James, the Lakers are the favorite to win tonight. They lost to the OKC in their last one and will give their best to bounce back. In the past couple of seasons, they have dominated the Blazers and knowing that this will be Portland’s second game in two nights, the Lakers will take advantage of that. Still, the Blazers are considered favorites by the bookmakers, so +4.5 for the Lakers at 1.78 is a very good deal.
