The last defeat was very unexpected as the Jazz lost at home 111-100 to the Indiana Pacers who had a 4-8 record coming to Salt Lake City.

The Jazz had a decent field goal percentage at 47% but struggled from the three-point line shooting only 28.1% and they missed 10 of their 23 free throws.

Donovan Mitchell was again the leading scorer with 26 points which is his season average. Rudy Gobert added a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Everyone else was beyond their level as Jordan Clarkson was the only one with double-digit points at 11 but shooting only 2-of-10 from three.

In the previous game, Utah won 110-98 against the last year's Eastern Conference runner-ups the Atlanta Hawks. The whole team was on the expected level shooting 50.6% from the field and 39.5 from the three-point line.

The Heat had a similar start winning 6 out of the first 7 games but are currently on a three-game losing streak as they failed to win on the road trip against the Nuggets, Lakers and Clippers.

The last loss 112-109 against the Clippers was very disappointing since the Heat dropped a 17-point lead without their top player Jimmy Butler. Bam Adebayo took over the leading role recording 30 points and 11 rebounds. Kyle Lowry had 25 and Tyler Herro who started in Butler’s place had 23 which wasn’t enough for a win.
