Will the change of coach lead the Flames to victory?

Sutter coached the Flames between 2002 and 2006 and reached their last Stanley Cup Finals with them in 2004. He also acted as General Manager until 2010. So in Calgary they rely on experience, a stable smell and a hard hand.

Despite the 7-3 win against the Senators on Friday night, something had to happen in Calgary. The team performed far too inconsistently throughout the season. So the immense talent that is in the team was never fully exploited.

Now it's Sutter's first game in the Battle of Alberta against the Edmonton Oilers. That is both an opportunity and a risk. If he wins the game, it could be the emotional starting signal for a comeback in the Scotia North Division.

If he loses this prestige duel, however, this would be a bitter damper right at the beginning. However, we are assuming that the change of coach in Calgary will at least give the players a leg up in the short term and so our forecast for Oilers vs. Flames is an away win for Calgary.

The third Battle of Alberta of the season begins on Sunday night at 4:00 am in Edmonton.
