The basis for this assessment is not least the striking difference between Leipzig's home and away appearances.

In my prognosis, I will show that despite all the problems, RB has had an excellent home record so far.

Opponents Celtic, however, have only been in the second row on the international stage for many decades and should therefore quickly reach their own limits in the Red Bull Arena in Leipzig.

The Scots have not been able to convince so far in the Champions League season. The current quota situation is therefore no surprise.

Analysis: Leipzig vs Celtic

If you only look at the previous performances in the premier class, the people of Leipzig actually have hardly any arguments for victory on their own side.

RB could not convince Real Madrid (0: 2) and Shakhtar Donetsk (1: 4), especially on the defensive, and up to this point is even one of the worst defensive teams in the entire preliminary round.

After the first two matchdays, only Glasgow Rangers and Viktoria Pilsen have each conceded a goal more. So far, however, the Saxons have had their biggest problems away from home.

In fact, they have only been able to win one away win across all competitions this season. That victory also came about in the DFB Cup against the lower division FC Teutonia 05 (8:0).

In front of a home crowd, however, the balance sheet looks very different. After the eighth matchday, Leipzig is the strongest team at home in the Bundesliga.

With ten points and a goal difference of 11:2, the statistics are really impressive. Accordingly, the devastating 1: 4 in the premier class against Donetsk does not fit into the picture and must be regarded as an anomaly.

But it is also true that RB played the last CL home games in 2020 without conceding a goal (against Tottenham and Basaksehir). Celtic Glasgow can therefore be expected to score at least one goal.
